Patriotism

Image
The Scent of Nationalism is brewing among my fellow countrymen As I pass along the familiar streets  The houses of stone and gravel, Busy markets and noisy stores, High apartments and mansions, I see them decorated in the Color of Tri Waving above gracefully In the skies of warm blue, Tied across a gentle flagstaff Ever wavering in the evening breeze. As I think to myself, The flags Raised Whether by pride or by compulsion And whether it is just an Act Or true Patriotism, it does not matter As long as people forget their differences And come along in this aura of oneness The community and the nation become one. This is the Scent I breathe as I pass along the familiar streets. - Roopesh Kumar

If I was...

Image
If I was a star, I would sparkle and shine If I was a light, I would travel to the darkest of places If I was a mountain, will proudly stand by my ground If I was a river, will swiftly flow across the banks. If I was an eagle, I would fly all day If I was an swan, I would swim in fresh ponds If I was a flower, I wish to be decorated before I fade If I was a seashell, I wish to lie on the warm beaches. If I was love, I would love every person  If I was a heart, I would fill myself with compassion  If I was a song, I desire to be everlasting But I am me, and I am grateful for everything. - Roopesh Kumar

Phoenix Flight

Image
When the hollow ground consumes me whole To the far fiery depths I fall, The flames burn my flesh and bones. When all that is left is pain. I rise like a Phoenix and glide, To the heavens above, my pale wings soar. Renouncing the fire and pain Above I fly, from the ashes of grief. I rise like a Phoniex and smile, Leaving all the worries and brood. Swiftly above I waft, making everyone around, be merry and laugh. For I will always fly back where my destiny lies. - Roopesh Kumar

A Flash of Lightning

Image
I see a flash of lightning piercing through the darkness Amidst the heavy rains pouring like the tears from the heavens As it storms, the cold unforgiving night gets darker The voice of the rain even louder As I pass through the ominous grey woods I hear the howling of the wolves from a distance Like a warning call to depart home I feel these tears from the high above, flowing through my arms and veins And shivering winds wrapping firm my soul But I still walk past the menacing blue forest As I still follow, a flash of lighting piercing through the darkness The brash thunder and the predators howling, play as music to my ears The night gets ever colder, with the shivering darkness surrounding my soul I still walk ahead towards a flash of lighting in the darkness The rains still pouring, wolves howling and the cold night frightening I stare at my soul, I see the darkness, but there is a flash of lightning, calling me for my quest. - Roopesh Kumar

An Art without beauty

Image
I am a poet, without a lover I am a writer, with no stylus A singer without a tune A painter with no colors And an art without beauty. I am a thinker, without any rationality I am a philosopher, with no reasoning A theorist without any basis A motivator with no character And a book without a substance.   I am an achiever, without any glory I am an inventor, with no creativity An architect without any design A medic with no pills And a regular work without agony.   I am a mountain, without a peak I am sea, with no shore A foggy snow without any ice A windy rain with no clouds And nature without life.   I am teacher, without any knowledge I am student, with no ambition A school without any rules A test with no grade And education without any impact.   I am a tree, without any branches I am a fruit, with no taste A lion without courage A sheep with no shepherd And a human without any desires.   I speak truth, without any
